On 24th of December children living in my house went to a salon next door to do their hair. They were so excited (täpinöissään) about their new looks. Adorable kids. (A story behind pictures can be read here, in Finnish.)

Girrrrrlie Dress
The fifth one.
And even more to come... I just got my new ones. Feeling happy, but little bit guilty, voihan yltäkylläisyys, I would say in Finnish.

The Indian Dress
Fab Indian fabric. |
The original design. |
Fabric didn't reach. So we decided to cut it. Good enough. |
Third one. I used my old Indian fabric, which I was not able to wear as sari. The dress still needs to be adjusted kakra kakra (small small), (waist little bit too loose and not enought room for my thights to sit down), but I do like it.

Long Lace Dress
Another new dress of mine. Plain light purple fabric covered entirely by dark purple lace. Never knew, that someday I was going to wear something like this! Still missing matching shoes...

Lorry Tyre Sandals
Last week I met a man from Bolgatanga selling sandals made of old lorry tyres and leather. So, let me proudly introduce my new (favorite) sandals. I think they will last long.

Two years ago the brand new dress, and the woman inside, were looking like this.

New Designs
This time I brought only 6 dresses with me to Ghana. We planned to do new dresses “as soon as possible”. And now, only 8 weeks after my arrival, I am about to get my new dresses. Pictures coming next week.
All dresses are designed by Brown.

Da Viva Ultimate and Da Viva Expression. |
Hitarget. |
I prefer buying fabrics printed here in Ghana (or somewhere nearby like in Ivory Coast).
Hitarget is printed in China, (that’s why it is so cheap). To make things even more complicated, I don’t think their designs are original ones. I think this particular one is copied from GTP. :(
Now that I said it aloud, I think this is going to be my first and last Hitarget-fabric. It’s still looking nice, but not very “fair”.

DV Shirts
Some of Brown's old shirts.
(I was stubborn and didn't place them here, because I didn't like the light in these pictures. But after all, this blog is about shirts/clothes, not about snapping perfect pictures...)

Self Made Box Top
Excited about the fact, that I was able to sew us new curtains (story in Finnish), I decided to be creative and try to sew a top for myself. (Just to remind you already at this point of reading, that I am not a taylor, last time I sewed, that was in senior high, quite a long time ago.)
I used my old white lace top for an inspiration, partly because it is the simplest top I’ve seen. Basically, it is a piece of fabric with a hole for head and sides joined together from the top of the fabric.
For my great surprise, it turned out to be a very nice one (my humble opinion). It also feels very airy, because breeze can pass from top to down, from one sleeve to another – what a cool thing to were in Ghana’s tropical climate. And made by myself, that’s enough to make it feel so special.
Dear Brown took the pictures. Thank you. Medaase odo.

GTP Top Made of Pieces
Decided to use my GTP leftovers for a casual top. It's a cool design even you can't see all the details because fabrics are so similar.
Earrings I made by myself.
It feels so GOOD to be back in Ghana!!
